Ted Scutti is a self-taught Sugar Artist.  What was to become his cake career began in high school when he decorated ice cream cakes part-time at Baskin-Robbins.  He took an extended leave from cake decorating to attend college and graduate school and then to work 11 years at Accenture in the field of consulting.  Baking a Red Velvet Cake for a dinner party reignited his interest in cakes.  Over the span of two years, he went from creating increasingly more elaborate cakes for friends and family to forming Sugar Sugar Cake Studio with Adam.  In sort order, Sugar Sugar Cake Studio became known as  a world-class boutique bakery.

Adam Starkey is a self-taught Sugar Artist.  Growing up, he was always interested in cooking, baking and especially working with chocolate and candy.  Those sweet interests continue today in Sugar Sugar Cake Studio as he handles all of the sugar work for the cakes.  His work on cakes began when he met Ted and got caught up in the whirlwind of baking that was to become Sugar Sugar Cake Studio.  He is also responsible for engineering the structures of the most technically challenging cakes produced by this boutique bakery.  Adam pursues his cake artistry while also working for the consulting firm Accenture.

Ted and Adam have been recognized as leaders by their peers in the designer cake industry.  Their distinctive work has been featured numerous times in “American Cake Decorating” magazine; including the cover of the publication.

The International Cake Exploration Societé (ICES) is the world’s premiere cake decorating organization.  The ICES Board of Directors selected Adam and Ted to be the Show Directors for the 39th Annual ICES Convention and Show in Albuquerque, NM in August, 2014.  Work is underway to create an amazing educational and networking event for cake decorating enthusiasts from across the globe.
